We were contracted to write log collection scripts that would strip out the garbage from the firewall logs in three states and keep any interesting information at a central facility. Also in the request was a log sampling each hour of anything unusual email to the sysadmin group.

We accomplished this task and also built an auto updated secure internal web site were the logs could be viewed by authorized personnel.

This was all done within budget and with no additional charges.
